Phoenix home prices up 20% from year ago to lead nation

Phoenix-area home prices in July were up 19.9 percent from a year earlier, easily the largest percentage gain among major U.S. cities, according to a CoreLogic report released today. Arizona was also the leader by far among the states in July home price gains, with a 16.6 percent increase from July 2011. Pending Home Sales Rise for 15th Straight Month

Pending home sales rose in July to the highest level since April 2010 when the homebuyer tax credit was about to close, according to the National Association of Realtors. The association’s pending home sales index rose 2.4% to 101.7 in July from 99.3 in June and stands 12.4% above July 2011 when it was 90.5.  For more on this story check out Pending Home Sales Rise for 15th Straight Month.
